Snohomish River Bridge Fine Art Print
The Snohomish River Bridge painting was created from a combination of photographs I took at the location and plein air paint studies. These studies, conducted outdoors, provided me with valuable insights into the interplay of light, color, and atmosphere, as well as the importance of artistic speed in capturing the fleeting beauty of the scene. I am currently working my way back to creating more plein air artworks, as I find that gathering photo references and color notes while painting outdoors, and then finishing the work in the studio, offers a valuable approach.
Capturing the shimmering water and the movement of the waves truly helps to convey the serenity of this painting. The lily pads seem so alive and it feels as if you can almost reach out and touch them, even though they are just out of reach.
The Snohomish River Bridge is a special place that I visit from time to time, sometimes to read a book, enjoy a lunch, or simply spend some time alone.
